Goodbye Neighbors,
When you read this letter, I will no longer be one of your HOA resident Board members. I wanted to take a moment to say thank you for allowing me to serve Waterleaf Falls for the last year. I learned a lot about my neighbors, met some great new folks, and had fun at many events in this role. I will miss the opportunity to serve my neighborhood as a Board member, but am looking forward to having much more free time!
Congratulations to the new resident Board members, and good luck!
Sincerely,
Abbye Crandall

HOA Annual Meeting Updates
The HOA Annual Meeting was held on March 24th at Cabela’s in Buda. At this meeting, we voted on new resident board members and bylaw amendments. The meeting was held after the deadline for printing of the newsletter, so those results are posted to our community website at waterleaffalls.com and will be shared in the May newsletter.
Pool Updates
The pool is still undergoing maintenance previously approved by the board. Once the projects are completed, the board may vote to open the pool earlier than planned.
Currently, we are scheduled to open in May. LIfeguards will be on duty for weekends in May and then full-time in June.
Please do not jump the fence or try to enter the pool until it is officially opened.
We will announce the opening information in our newsletter and on the community website.
Reminder: Pool Access Key Cards
Old key cards were disabled in October of 2013. There were 2 dates for new cards to be issued at the park. If you were unable to attend or are new to the neighborhood, you will need to visit poolkey.com to request a new card. The board may vote to have additional dates for keys to be issued here in the neighborhood. If they do so, the announcement will be posted to the community website.
Waterleaf Park Safety
There have been increasing reports of bullying, inappropriate behavior and loud cursing at the park. Please take a moment to discuss safety and appropriate behavior with your child. If your child attends the park without parental supervision, please remind them to be respectful of other adults and park patrons. There have been several reports of teens making threats and using vulgar language toward adults. These actions can have legal consequences, so be sure your teen is aware. If you see or hear of any trouble at the park, you are encouraged to report the activity to the Kyle Police Department (512.268.3232) Our children’s safety is not the sole responsibility of any committee or patrol group, together, we can ALL keep the park safe for everyone!
Easy Schedule for Spring Cleaning
Here is a quick and easy schedule to get a handle on your Spring Cleaning in less than 30 minutes a day!
Monday- Vacuum each Room, occasionally do vents, curtains, and window crevices.
Tuesday- Dust House, occasionally wipe down nice furniture with polish.
Wednesday: Clean guest bathroom including toilet, counters, mirror, tub, shower and floors.
Thursday – Clean master bathroom including toilet, counters, mirror, tub, shower and floors.
Friday – Clean Kitchen, mop floor and clean counter tops with anti-bacterial product.
Weekends – Other small projects or NOTHING at all!
Maintain house daily by picking things up and immediately putting items away or in a basket to take upstairs or other rooms. Throw junk mail away immediately and sort out incoming mail.
If you have kids, keep a basket in every room to place toys in at the end of every day. For older kids, have them help out before priveleges are allowed.
Creative Easter Egg Decorating Ideas

Kool-Eggs
Dye your Easter Eggs in Kool-aid! Buy packets of your favorite flavors and mix about half of the package with one cup of water. Dip eggs and let sit for a few minutes.
Watercolor Eggs
Little ones will enjoy using water-color paint to decorate their eggs. They can add decorative designs using colored pencils!
Sprinkle Eggs
Cover eggs in Tacky Glue and then dip in sprinkles! You can do this same method with glitter or small beads.
All-Natural Eggs
This doubles as a great science project for kids. Pick out some food items like turmeric and red cabbage. Add some water and bring to a boil. Use the boiled water to color your eggs! Make predictions about what color will come from the food/spice and then compare to the actual outcome!

Marbled Eggs
For marble-looking eggs, simply roll your boiled egg gently across a flat surface and then dye your eggs. Remove the shell and you will have a marble pattern on the egg itself. Be sure you use an edible dye method for this one.
Sticker Eggs
For less mess, simply use stickers to decorate eggs! You can also use old postage stamps for a unique decoration. Another option is to place shape stickers on the eggs before you dye them. Remove the stickers and you will have awesome shapes left!

Silk-Tie-Dyed Eggs
Wrap an egg in an old silk tie and boil in water and vinegar. When you remove the tie the pattern will have transferred to the egg! If Dad doesn’t have any old ties, consider checking out the local thrift store!
